Cointreau Oranges

  • melted butter, for brushing
  • 4 medium oranges
  • crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • 2 tbsp Grand Marnier or Cointreau
  • 4 tbsp butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F
  2. Cut four double-thick squares of foil, and place into a muffin tray
  3. Brush the center of each square with plenty of melted butter
  4. Peel all of the oranges, and remove the white stuff
  5. Slice each orange into thick slices crossways
  6. Stack the slices in the foil
  7. Mix together any orange juice caught while peeling the oranges, the liquor, and the agave syrup
  8. Spoon the mixture over the oranges
  9. Add a bit of butter over the top, then close the foil around the oranges
  10. Bake 10-12 minutes
  11. Serve in a bowl with the crème fraîche
